Stephen Bradley Clinic at Playland Farm

Saturday, December 6th, SAS Sport Horses enjoyed a day indoors with Stephen Bradley at the beautiful Playland Farm LLC located in Union Bridge, MD.

Along with Shera, who rode Kerrigan, Nicole D. enjoyed her own "Deux" and Katherine M. took a go on "CoCo".  All three groups consisted of grid work to improve rider position and
horse footwork, mixed in with more coursework to single fences and lines.

As usual, Stephen was very encouraging and was able to help all SAS riders improve.
It was wonderful to see some familiar faces riding as well and great to meet some new faces as well.

We look forward to carrying what we've learned into the winter months.

Huge thank you to Glenda Player and her wonderful staff  at Playland Farm for making the day run so smoothly and successfully.

New chapter for SAS Sport Horses!!

Today marks a huge milestone for SAS Sport Horses and a personal achievement for myself.  We are taking the big step to run and operate our own farm.  I could not be more excited about this new adventure in our lives. And I look forward to providing quality care and training to all of our horses and students.  Our new farm is a beautiful cozy stable in Clarksburg, Maryland.  17 stalls indoor/outdoor arena, access to trails and galloping fields, what more could a girl want?

The first steps are getting the barn prepared and ready for the horses to move in.

We will be accepting boarders starting August 1.  As I want this to be a high-quality training facility we will only be excepting horses who are in partial/full training or students enrolled in weekly lesson programs.  I also look forward to being able to get back into sales horses and off the track thoroughbreds!!!

Shera takes the role of Owner of SAS Sport Horses/ Head Trainer and Barn Manager.  Maggie takes the new roles of Assistant Barn Manager/Head Groom/Trainer we are so excited that she will be living on property!!

We welcome new working student Kaitie who has been working with Shera over the past two years.  She's a hard worker and has really helped a lot of horses come along under the direction of Shera.

We are also seeking a second working student.

We are getting very excited for this new chapter in our lives.  We can't wait to get settled in and get down to business!!!

We will have a lot more information and photos to share over the next coming days and weeks. We will also be excited to provide details of our new training and  operations.... So stay tuned!!

Spring Starter Trial #2 at Loch Moy

Sunday was a beautiful day for competing!!

The Loch Moy Spring Starter Trials #2 had a ton of competitors.

Shera rode Riverside's Touch of CoCo in Training Level-D.  Dressage left them with a 33.20 going into stadium.  Unfortunately a knocked rail on the very last fence kept them from tying for 2nd place with Courtney Cooper.  Cross-Country ran beautifully.

Shera also rode Riverside's Tebow Mania at his very first go at Beginner Novice.  Shera made the last minute decision to sit her dressage test knowing it would bring their score down but felt it was necessary as this was a schooling show to help this youngster get off the forehand by using her core more effectively.  In stadium losing the reins resulted in Tebow missing a fence.  But Shera could not be more happy with this baby, as this was a chance to see if he can be moved up to USEA rated Beginner Novice which we have every confidence that he can.  Cross-Country couldn't have gone better and he seemed to enjoy the bigger fences.

These two horses will be competing on April 26 at the USEA Loudon Horse Trials at Morvan Park

The real star of the day was Karen Kane and her horse Ranger.  This was their first starter Trials together and they walked way with 1st place in Intro and then went on to school an amazing Beginner Novice Cross-Country round.  We are so proud of this pair and how far Karen has brought this Green horse.

Look for this pair moving up on May 3 at the Iron Bridge Horse Trials!
